Bellator welterweight champion Rory MacDonald and ex-champ Douglas Lima have been drug tested and passed “numerous” times in advance of their rematch at Bellator 232, according to the event’s chief regulator.
Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation director Michael Mazzulli told MMA Fighting the welterweights have been screened for performance-enhancers and drugs of abuse banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency. They’ve come up negative every time and cooperated without issue.
Mazzulli, who also serves as the Association of Boxing Commissions’ president and conducts overseas drug testing for Bellator, said one set of test results remains pending.
