Roger Gracie will compete during UFC 189 fight week, but it won’t be in a MMA bout.
The ONE Championship light heavyweight, who went 4-2 under the UFC and Strikeforce banners between 2010 and 2013, will meet Rodrigo "Comprido" Medeiros in a 10-minute jiu-jitsu match. The exact date isn’t set yet, Gracie told MMAFighting.com, but will be during the American National Jiu-Jitsu Championships on July 10 and 11. Dojjo first reported the news.
A 10-time jiu-jitsu world champion and two-time ADCC gold medalist, Gracie hasn’t competed in a jiu-jitsu match since a draw with fellow world champion Marcus "Buchecha" Almeida at Metamoris 1.
