Rodolfo Vieira made his mixed martial arts debut Saturday night in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and made quick work of Daniyar Zarylbek at Arzalet Fighting 1.
The five-time jiu-jitsu world champion and ADCC gold medalist, who trained at American Top Team for his first MMA bout, quickly took Zarylbek down, got the mount and landed several shots. When Zarylbek tried to escape, Vieira got the back and forced him to tap with a rear-naked choke.
Earlier the day, inside the same arena, UFC featherweight Charles Oliveira took on multiple time jiu-jitsu world champion Celso Venicius in an ADCC match, but was defeated by points (8-0).
