I know, you’ve heard this before when they were initially slated to collide at UFC 205, only to watch Lawler bow out, but it’s for real this time.
UFC president Dana White confirmed the rebooking Monday with ESPN.com’s Brett Okamoto.
After putting pen to paper for their original tango, Lawler decided to pull out because he needed more time to recover from July 30th’s vicious knockout loss to Tyron Woodley which cost him his welterweight crown.
Lawler had rattled off five consecutive victories prior to getting put to sleep by Woodley.
Cerrone was white hot having won four straight after moving up to the welterweight division.
