Rizin needs a new main event for its upcoming event in Nagoya, Japan.
Brazilian lightweight Bruno Carvalho was scheduled to make his promotional debut against Japanese sensation Yusuke Yachi at Rizin 12 on Aug. 12, but was forced out of the fight with an injury, sources told MMA Fighting.
Rizin is actively searching for a replacement opponent to fight Yachi at the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium.
Yachi (20-6) is currently riding a six-fight winning streak in the Japanese circuit, including stoppage victories over Takanori Gomi, Daron Cruickshank and Satoru Kitaoka and most recently Carvalho’s teammate Diego Nunes via decision inside the Rizin ring.
