Rico Verhoeven defended his Glory title Saturday in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
The heavyweight champion stepped into the ring against Jamal Ben Saddik, one of the few men to ever beat him in kickboxing, and survived an early scare before scoring a knockout victory in the fifth round at Glory 49.
Verhoeven improved to 53-10-1 in kickboxing with his 16th knockout finish, avenging a 2011 TKO defeat to Saddik. The heavyweight sensation went 3-0 in 2017, including a second-round win over UFC veteran Antonio “Bigfoot" Silva in October.
The second title fight on the card featured middleweight champion Alex Pereira and Yousri Belgaoui, and the Brazilian successfully defended his title via third-round stoppage.
