In mixed martial arts (MMA), sometimes referees make questionable calls that lead to an errant decision, point deduction, or early stoppage. And up to this point, nothing could be done in wake of the referee's decision.
Until today.
According to a report from MMA Fighting, Nick Lembo, counsel for the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board, noted instant replay will be used tonight (Sat., April 18, 2015) if necessary at UFC on FOX 15 live from the Prudential Center.
This will be the first time the state of New Jersey uses instant replay for a Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event, as they have utilized the rewind function at a Cage Fury Fighting Championships show last year.
