UFC lightweight Drakkar Klose will get compensation for his cancelled matchup with Jeremy Stephens, but just not his full purse.
ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reports that Klose, who was injured after Stephens shoved him at the UFC Vegas 24 weigh-ins last Friday, will receive his base purse but no win bonus. This came after “some back and forth” with the UFC on this subject. As recently as Monday, Klose reportedly wasn’t even sure if he’s get paid at all, so at least he has his answer.
Klose was diagnosed with a neck sprain and a concussion following Stephens’ push, something Dana White decided to blame on Sean Shelby and not the guy who actually caused the injury.
