Pay-per-view buy rates have been down across the board for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but it appears that UFC 227 has exceeded expectations in that regard.
According to a report from MMAFighting.com, the Aug. 4 event held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles drew approximately 300,000 pay-per-view buys. Those figures are per industry estimates, as the promotion does not release its buy rates to the public.
UFC 227 was headlined by a bantamweight title rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt, which Dillashaw won via first-round knockout. In the co-main event, Henry Cejudo upset reigning flyweight king Demetrious Johnson in a split-decision triumph.
