As previously rumored, UFC 190 drew a robust pay-per-view audience.
According to a report from MMAFighting.com, the Aug. 1 event garnered more than 900,000 buys. Much of that success likely stems from headliner Ronda Rousey, who scored a 34-second knockout of Bethe Correia in the evening’s main event.
The figure is only an estimate derived from industry sources because the Las Vegas-based promotion does not officially disclose pay-per-view numbers. Still, it is a testament to Rousey’s drawing power, as UFC 190 outdid the more heavily-hyped UFC 189 bill (estimated at 825,000 buys) on July 11 despite lacking the overall depth of its predecessor.
