It seems that the healing process is complete for former light heavyweight title challenger Thiago Santos. After fighting Jon Jones to a split decision back in July 2019, ‘Marreta’ came away from the bout with a totally blown left knee and a partially torn right ACL. A year later, however, ESPN reports that Santos is set for a headlining fight against seasoned veteran Glover Teixeira for mid-September.
Outside of Santos’ (27-1) controversial split decision loss to Jones last year, the 36-year-old found himself on a four-fight winning streak. Having picked up victories against Kevin Holland, Eryk Anders, Jimi Manuwa and Jan Blachowicz.
