A clash of welterweight strikers is reportedly headed to Washington, D.C., in December. According to Brazilian news outlet Diario do Nordeste, former welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves will take on fellow Muay Thai specialist Tim Means at UFC on ESPN 7 later this year.
Having lost three of his last four bouts, Thiago Alves (23-14) will try to bounce back from an unanimous decision defeat to Laureano Staropoli back in May. The loss came right after a win over Max Griffin in February. However, ‘Pitbull’ had been on a two-fight losing skid prior to the victory, at the hands of Alexey Kunchenko and Curtis Millender.
