Two-time Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight Cody East has been arrested for domestic violence, according to published reports. KRQE News 13 was first to report the incident.
Per jail records, East was taken into custody by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department in South Valley, New Mexico, early Sunday and charged with aggravated battery against a household member, false imprisonment and aggravated assault against a household member. He was being held at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center on $30,000 bail, the report indicated.
East is no stranger to the law. He was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading no-contest to child abuse charges in 2008, the report said.
