As if losing the much-anticipated title fight between former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones an Anthony Johnson wasn't bad enough (see why here), UFC 187 -- which is scheduled for May 23, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada -- has suffered another blow.
Khabib Nurmagomedov has been forced to bow out of his scheduled lightweight bout against Donald Cerrone after "The Eagle" suffered a knee injury during training. The news was first reported byMMA Junkie late last night (Wed. April 29, 2015) citing an anonymous source close to the situation.
This is now the second time a fight between Nurmagomedov and "Cowboy" has been scrapped, as their initial proposed fight, which was set for UFC 178 last year, was nixed after Khabib blew his knee out literally minutes after agreeing to the bout.
