A bout between a former strawweight title challenger and a rising prospect is reportedly set to take place in September. Per Combate’s report, seasoned contender Claudia Gadelha will take on arguably the most promising Chinese female fighter in the UFC after current champion Weili Zhang, Yan Xiaonan.
Currently on a two-fight winning streak, Claudia Gadelha (18-4) bested both Angela Hill and Randa Markos via decision in her last two outings. The 31-year-old’s last loss dates back to December 2018, when she dropped a unanimous decision to Nina Ansaroff.
Also on a winning streak, Yan Xiaonan (12-1-1 NC) will look for her sixth straight win in the Octagon, after defeating Kailin Curran, Viviane Pereira, Syuri Kondo, Angela Hill and Karolina Kowalkiewicz, all by unanimous decision.
