Report: Chuck Liddell And Matt Hughes Laid Off By UFC

UFC president Dana White’s power in the promotion he helped build is diminishing by the minute after MMA’s industry leader sold to WME-IMG in July for an astonishing $4.2 billion.

The UFC went through a second wave of layoffs this week, which reportedly sent 10-15 people packing, and White wasn’t able to save his BFF Chuck Liddell or Matt Hughes. According to MMAFighting.com, the UFC Hall of Famers were relived of their figurehead duties with the organization.

Liddell, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, was persuaded by White to retire from fighting in 2010 after suffering a series of vicious knockout losses during the twilight of his career.
