Daniel Cormier knew that his best chance of surviving the fight would be if he could simply survive the first few minutes against the rumbling Anthony Johnson, and he almost didn't. Johnson smacked DC around so hard he spun into a pirouette and face planted. AJ followed up with more brutal shots that reminded us that DC walked through the HEAVYWEIGHT division with ease, and then embraced the grind like only he could.
Take down, control. Crush face. Take down, control. Then crush a little more face. Johnson fought back bravely, but his heart and soul were put under the foot of Cormier's dominant wrestling.
