One-time flyweight title challenger Ray Borg is no longer a UFC fighter.
UFC officials on Friday confirmed to MMA Fighting Borg’s release from contract after his withdrawal from UFC Vegas 5 earlier this month. His manager, Ali Abdelaziz, declined comment on the release.
Borg was scratched from a bout against Nathan Maness on the Aug. 1 card for undisclosed reasons. It marked his second straight withdrawal after his son’s health prompted him to bow out of a fight against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC on ESPN 10.
The 27-year-old MMA vet has struggled to maintain consistency amid a string of troubles outside the cage.
