From a matchmaking perspective, it makes perfect sense.
Both Rashad Evans and Alexander Gustafsson came up short in their respective bouts at UFC 192 earlier this month in Houston, Texas, and both "Suga" and "The Mauler" -- former light heavyweight title contenders -- are ranked in the top 10 at 205 pounds.
"I spoke with Rashad and he'd like to fight Alexander Gustafsson next, he thinks that fight makes sense," Ariel Helwani told UFC Tonight. "They both lost their last fights. I spoke to Gustafsson's management and they said they'd like that down the line, but they'd like to settle a few things first, but they didn't say what.
