Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has thrown his weight behind a campaign to have his sparring partner Tony Moran selected as Roy Jones Jr’s opponent for an upcoming bout in Liverpool, England. The former PRIDE FC and UFC light-heavyweight champion once wanted to box Jones Jr. himself but says he now would be happy to see the slot go to his teammate.
Moran, 41, is one of the more interesting characters in British combat sports. A highly-ranked karate stylist in his youth, he did not start boxing until he was 26 years old. Incredibly, he started his career as a professional boxer without a single amateur bout to his name.
