A flabby Jackson clocked a staggering 253 pounds on the scale at Thursday’s weigh-ins. Lawal, meanwhile, looked shredded as usual while hitting 212 pounds on the scale.
Jackson previously threatened he’d push the 266 pound maximum for their non-title heavyweight tango, and the former UFC light heavyweight champion wasn’t too far off. Given the excessive pounds he’s packing and apparent out-of-shape appearance, it’s tough not to wonder what kind of physical condition Jackson is in.
Jackson posted a unanimous decision win over Lawal in their initial encounter at Bellator 120 nearly three years ago. Although, that was in a light heavyweight affair so Jackson wasn’t carrying the extra weight.
