Pride Fighting Championships and World Extreme Cagefighting veteran Paulo Filho was injured in a car accident in Niteroi, Brazil, on Monday morning.
Filho suffered fractures in his hand and hip after the vehicle he was driving collided headfirst with a Vectra. Filho told MMAFighting.com that he accidentally drove the wrong way on a road that was under construction.
The 39-year-old is in stable condition at Tijutrauma hospital and is expected to undergo surgery for his injuries soon.
Filho owns a 23-6-3 career mark and last competed in February 2014, when he lost a unanimous decision to Andre Muniz at Bitetti Combat 19.
