We are less than one week away from the highly anticipated middleweight championship rematch between Gennady Golovkin (39-0-1, 34 KOs) and Canelo Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs), as all parties involve hope we don’t get another controversial outcome like last year’s split draw.
Build-up to this fight is a little different compared to the first one. There seems to be more animosity at play given Canelo’s drug test failure for clenbuterol nixed the scheduled May date for this rematch. Golovkin in particular has been quite vocal about this, and expectation is we’ll see more fireworks in the ring than we did in their entertaining first encounter.
