Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate retired from mixed martial arts (MMA) following her uninspired performance against Raquel Pennington at UFC 205 in New York.
So now that “Cupcake” is no longer confined to her wrapper, the former Strikeforce titleholder can take the necessary time off to repair some of those nagging injuries sustained after a decade of face punching.
Including that pesky septum.
Tate (18-7) is just 30 years old, fairly young for a super hero athlete to call it quits. That said, promotion president Dana White has already promised her future employment, though she may want to stay off Glassdoor after what happened to these guys.
