Claressa Shields’ MMA debut is one step closer as the boxing champ made weight for her PFL 4 main event opposite Britney Elkin.
Shields came in at 154.8 pounds for the lightweight bout while Elkin registered 155.4 pounds. The fight tops a nine-fight card that was pared down by two bouts after ex-UFC champ Anthony Pettis’ and two-time PFL featherweight champ Lance Palmer were rescheduled from their respective bouts after they were scratched for last-minute complications. Two-time PFL lightweight champ Natan Schulte was slotted to face Pettis’ originally scheduled opponent, Alexander Martinez.
