Brendan Loughnane will go in the Professional Fighters League books as the fighter with the first finish of the 2021 season, and he got it in devastating fashion.
Loughnane opened up his season taking on UFC veteran Sheymon Moraes on the featured preliminary bout of Friday’s PFL 1 event, the league’s first since COVID-19 cancelled the 2020 campaign.
Loughnane showed off an active and powerful arsenal on the feet, and had his opponent badly hurt. When it seemed like Moraes found an opening to recover, he landed with pinpoint accuracy before ending the bout with a vicious right hand that had Moraes landing awkwardly against the fence.
