Few gave Pennsylvania's Tommy Karpency any chance against WBC Light Heavyweight Champion Adonis Stevenson in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions double-header last night.
As it turns out, those few were very, very wrong.
The power-punching Quebecois absolutely demolished Karpency (25-5-1, 14 KO), rattling him in the first round and dropping him in the waning moments of the second before fishing him seconds into the third. Simply put, Stevenson's (27-1, 22 KO) power, speed, and overall boxing acumen were all levels above the Pennsylvanian's.
A brutal left cross destroyed Karpency's equilibrium and follow-up shots earned the first knockdown, while another big left forced Karpency to faceplant.
