Adesanya was in Auckland, New Zealand, on Friday to build up his March 7 middleweight title defense against Yoel Romero at UFC 248, and “The Last Stylebender” explained the rationale behind setting up his match with Romero.
The champion’s choice of words left something to be desired, as he made an offhand reference to the “9/11” tragedy in predicting how his fight with Romero will go.
“He’s the guy that no one wants to fight,” Adesanya said. “He’s the oogy-boogeyman. Even Darren Till. ‘Oh, I’ll fight anyone except Yoel.
