The UFC's return to Sacramento now has a main event, and she's a local fighter.
Popular strawweight contender Paige VanZant will headline UFC Fight Night 103 against Michelle Waterson in Sacramento, according to UFC president Dana White. White broke the news during the broadcast of Wednesday night's edition of UFC Tonight.
The 30-year-old Waterson (13-4) hasn't fought since July 2015 at the TUF 21 Finale, which was also her UFC debut. She scored a third-round submission (rear-naked choke) over Angela Magana. The "Karate Hottie" was supposed to face Tecia Torres at UFC 194, yet had to pull out of the fight with an injury.
