A battle of strawweights is headed to Brazil’s capital of Brasilia in March.
Per MMA Fighting, both Paige VanZant and Amanda Ribas have verbally agreed to the bout, although their contracts have yet to be signed.
Back in the strawweight division after a two-fight stint at flyweight, Paige VanZant (8-4) will try to put together a new win streak in the Octagon, following a submission victory over Rachael Ostovich back in January. Before the armbar win, the 25-year-old suffered back-to-back losses to Jessica-Rose Clark and Michelle Waterson.
Undefeated in the Octagon, rising prospect Amanda Ribas (8-1) bested Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Mackenzie Dern via unanimous decision in her last outing back in October, She had a successful UFC debut in June, when she tapped out Emily Whitmire via rear-naked choke.
