Former WBC bantamweight champion Luis Nery (30-0, 24 KOs) opened up the PPV portion of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman undercard, and he’s gotten the evening off to a terrific start.
Facing former WBA champion Juan Carlos Payano (21-3, 9 KOs), it was the Dominican fighter who had the early advantage by outboxing the Mexican, but once Nery turned up the pressure and increased his volume, Payano was inevitably going to be outgunned. Despite Payano’s best efforts to go toe to toe with Nery, he was getting broken down due to a series of body shots and head shots that had him battered and bruised all over.
