BloodyElbow spoke to ONE fighter Arnaud Lepont, who recalled a harrowing experience that occurred following his KO loss in Indonesia several weeks ago.
Mixed Martial Arts, especially outside of the major organizations, remains largely a wild, wild west with regards to fighter safety. We've seen disregard for fighters' heath and well-being in amateur events in New York, where MMA remains unsanctioned. This ugly lack of care is also apparent in parts of Russia, where some promotions regulate their own shows with nothing more than smelling salts and t-shirts with ‘Doctor' stitched on the back.
Unfortunately, it would appear that similar situations have also been taking place in larger organizations with significant influence over the South East Asian market.
