Chinese flyweight Jianbing Yang died Friday afternoon in the Philippines after being rushed to the hospital Thursday following what his opponent called a failed weight cut.
Bing, 21, was scheduled to fight Geje Eustaquio Friday at One Championship 35, but he never made it to the scale.
“Sorry to let you know fellas that our fight tonight will not push through,” Eustaquio said in a post on Facebook. “My opponent didn't make weight and he was rushed to the hospital due to dehydration and possible heat stroke.”
Bing was pronounced dead at San Juan De Dios Hospital in Pasay, Philippines, at 12:06 p.
