Ben Askren believes he is the best welterweight in the world. He will have yet another opportunity to state his case against 71-fight veteran Luis Santos.
Both Askren and Santos made weight without issue ahead of their scheduled 170-pound championship showdown at One Championship 26. Askren tipped the scales at 170 pounds at Thursday’s weigh-ins, while Santos checked in at 170.
One Championship 26 “Valor of Champions” takes place on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines and is available via pay-per-view.
A four-time NCAA All-American wrestler at the University of Missouri, Askren has won 14 straight fights to begin his professional tenure.
