Lightweights Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Gilbert Burns will have a second chance to meet in the middle of the Octagon.
After being paired up at UFC on Fox 28 back in February, only to have the fight fall through when the Brazilian was forcefully removed from the card because of weight cutting issues, the bout is now back on the table for UFC 231, as MMA Brasil first reported and the UFC later announced.
In his last outing, Olivier Aubin-Mercier (11-3) was bested via unanimous decision by prospect Alexander Hernandez. The fight snapped a four-fight winning streak for the Canadian, with wins over Thibault Gouti, Drew Dober, Tony Martin and Evan Dunham, all but one by way of KO or submission.
