UFC welterweight contender Darren Till encountered a major health scare during the weight cut in preparation for his headliner fight against Stephen Thompson in Liverpool last May. But for his title fight against Tyron Woodley at UFC 228 last weekend, “The Gorilla” made the 170-pound mark, sticking it to his detractors as he was on the scales.
This trend is expected to continue, at least according to Till’s nutritionist Eoghan Gallagher.
“[The weight cut] did go extremely well in the end. I was very confident [he would make weight] and I think he can make 170 with ease for years to come, it’s just all about what his preference is moving forward,” Gallagher told MMAFighting’s Peter Caroll in a recent episode of Eurobash.
