Khabib Nurmagomedov is a man on a mission. The feared Dagestani fighter has long been hyped as the next lightweight champion and it’s looking 2017 could be his year.
‘The Eagle’ told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that he plans to beat No. 2 ranked LW Tony Ferguson for the interim ‘bullsh*t belt’ and then snatch the ‘real’ title from Conor McGregor later in the year.
“I want to beat Tony Ferguson, take the interim bullsh*t belt, and I will fight with Conor for real belt,” Nurmagomedov said, per MMA Fighting’s Dave Doyle.
