Last year, Nick Diaz was suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) after one of his three drug tests from UFC 183 flagged for marijuana metabolites. His initial suspension of five years was reduced to 18 months and his fine was cut from $165,000 to $100,000.
Diaz’s suspension expired in August but it was revealed that the former Strikeforce welterweight champion couldn’t corner his younger brother, Nate Diaz, at UFC 202 because he hadn’t paid off the remainder of his fine.
As of August 20, Diaz still owed the NAC $75,000 and it’s been reported that the 33-year-old is still suspended due to not completing the payment.
