It has been a rough few days for Nicco Montano, to say the least. Not only was she forced out of her scheduled fight against Valentina Shevchenko due to a major health scare, it also cost her the UFC women’s flyweight title.
Montano had been relatively silent throughout the entire ordeal, until Sunday, when she released a lengthy explanation via Instagram. According to her, she was “forced” into accepting the fight against Shevchenko, whom she branded as a “lying bully.”

“I had asked for a fight in October knowing this and had some legit people on my side also asking on my behalf, however the matchmaker and whoever else only gave me the September date to choose from,” Montano wrote.
