MMA judging will be under the microscope at the Oct. 31 event from Cage Fury Fighting Championships.
At CFFC 52, the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board will compare the cageside judges’ scores, which will still determine the official results, with the tallies of three judges who will be watching the broadcast of the fight in an “isolated room without audio commentary.”
According to the release, the experiment came about as a result of observations from the commission, feedback from judges, comments from media who worked as shadow judges at recent events and discussion with executives within the industry.
