The expected disciplinary hearings for ex-WSOF welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares and UFC middleweight Caio Magalhaes were postponed until Oct. at a Monday meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission. NAC chairman Francisco Aguilar did not specify a reason for the decision.
Palhares and Magalhaes, both of whom are currently serving temporary suspensions, were scheduled to step before the commission Monday in Las Vegas.
Palhares (18-6) defeated Jake Shields amid widespread controversy on Aug. 1 at WSOF 22. Palhares was later stripped off his WSOF welterweight title and suspended indefinitely by the promotion for repeatedly gouging Shields' eyes and cranking on his fight-ending kimura for several ticks after Shields tapped.
