Long gone are the days of the Pride FC freak show fights where, if the government had allowed them to, they would have seen how many camel spiders it would take to decapitate a herd of rhinoceroses.
While they were often unethical, those fights were something of legend. They offered viewers a chance to gawk at seemingly impossible odds, pitting fighters against one another that can only be described as “David vs. Goliathesque”.
The promotion would take a revered or up-and-coming combatant and throw them into the ring with a fighter that was often much larger (and stronger), than they were.
