As you may have heard, UFC welterweight Nick Diaz was suspended five years by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) earlier this week due to a controversial failed drug test for marijuana metabolites.
Aside from a few tweets replying to fans on Twitter from UFC president Dana White, the promotion has largely remained silent by not issuing an official response to the commission's ruling.
While nearly the entirety of the MMA landscape, fighters, fans, and media have universally denounced Diaz's suspension, former UFC welterweight champion and current Vice President of Athlete Development and Government Relations Matt Hughes took a different stance on the matter Thursday.
