Georges St-Pierre, Tim Kennedy, Donald Cerrone, Cain Velasquez, and TJ Dillashaw announced the launch of a new fighter association the Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association (MMAAA) on Wednesday. Those five will make up the association's first board and they will be joined by former Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney in an advisory capacity and their goals are, among other things, to negotiate a collective bargaining agreement with the UFC and raise fighter revenue up to 50% from the estimated 8% it currently sits at.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of enthusiasm by many fighters in the community; however, not everyone was pleased.
