When Georges St-Pierre first announced his intention to return to MMA after almost four years away from the cage, many suggested he was targeting an eventual fight with PPV king, Conor McGregor. Instead, St-Pierre set his sights on then-middleweight champion Michael Bisping, denying that he was planning on fighting McGregor and saying that he was contractually obligated to defend the middleweight title should he win it.
Well, St-Pierre did win the title but he won’t be defending it as the former two-weight world champion vacated the middleweight belt two weeks ago to deal with a personal health issue.
