The former light heavyweight champion and the current one have a long history of dislike which culminated in Jones defeating Cormier to retain his UFC title at UFC 182. Jones was then stripped of his title for outside-the-cage incidents and Cormier won the vacant belt by submitting Anthony Johnson. Since then, Cormier and Jones have been booked to fight each other several more times but their business has remained unfinished due to injury withdrawals and a failed drug test by Jones. Now however, the UFC is attempting to set a rematch, this time at UFC 214.
