In wake of the recent allegations against Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein, social media has had a deluge of conversations surrounding the matter. This led to the #MeToo campaign, where survivors of sexual abuse/assault as well as victims of sexual harassment have come forward to discuss their experiences.
And no, the MMA world is not immune to incidents of this sort.
MMA veteran and pioneer Tara LaRosa took to Twitter to accuse a doctor appointed by the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission of sexual assault.
In a series of Tweets, LaRosa explains that prior to a fight, she was to undergo a “mandatory“ breast exam, or not be allowed to fight at all.
