If you went into last night's (Sat., June 6, 2015) UFC Fight Night 68 event -- which went down from inside The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, LA -- expecting to see one of the best events of the year, chances are you would've most likely been disappointed.
Thankfully, the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) is very unpredictable, as evidenced by the plethora of wild and unexpected finishes in a free event that wasn't exactly loaded with "mega stars" and hard to call matches.
No disrespect intended, of course.
To the enlightenment of many, the event surpassed everyone's expectations, as the FOX Sports 1 event had the MMA community raving after some unbelievable performances, which included 10 finishes with a record-tying seven of them coming in the very first round, including Dan Henderson's 30-second destruction of Tim Boetsch.
