Mirko Cro Cop released by UFC to be allowed to fight for Rizin

It was recently announced that heavyweight legend Mirko Cro Cop will fight in the Rizin openweight tournament later this year. This didn't seem likely, considering Mirko was a) under a UFC contract; and b) suspended by USADA. Surprisingly though, the UFC released a statement (via MMA Fighting) saying that he was released from the rest of the fights on his contract:

"Former heavyweight contender Mirko Cro Cop announced his retirement from the sport of MMA in November, and recently requested that the remaining bouts in his promotional agreement with the UFC organization be terminated.
