While the highly anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. is still expected to happen, it will take place later than originally anticipated.
Sources close to the situation confirmed to MMA Fighting that the eight-round exhibition match between Tyson and Jones Jr. scheduled for Sept. 12 has been postponed, following an initial report from The Athletic. The targeted date to re-book the fight between former world champions is Nov. 28.
The reason for the postponement is unclear, per sources.
Tyson, 54, retired in 2005 following a loss to Kevin McBride after not answering the bell in the seventh round.
